Emotional Deprivation
Emotional deprivation occurs when a child or adult does not receive adequate emotional support, affection, or validation from caregivers or close relationships. This lack of emotional nourishment can lead to developmental delays, attachment issues, low self-esteem, and mental health disorders like depression or anxiety. Children especially need consistent love, attention, and encouragement to feel secure and valued. Emotional deprivation may arise due to neglect, parental absence, abuse, or even over-busy lifestyles. Addressing this requires therapy, positive social interaction, and creating safe environments where individuals feel emotionally supported and understood.
