Psychicisation
Psychicisation is a central concept in Sri Aurobindo’s Integral Yoga, referring to the awakening and emergence of the psychic being—the inner soul or divine essence in every human. This process involves aligning one’s outer life (mind, emotions, and body) with the inner spiritual truth.
The psychic being is seen as the guide and witness within us. It evolves through many lifetimes, gradually coming to the forefront of consciousness. Psychicisation occurs when this soul begins to dominate our thoughts, desires, and actions, leading to purity, love, and harmony.
According to Aurobindo, psychicisation is the first major step in spiritual transformation. It purifies the being and prepares it for higher spiritual experiences such as spiritualisation and supramentalisation. Through this, a person becomes calm, compassionate, and centered in divine truth.
In essence, psychicisation is the inward journey to discover the divine center within and allow it to govern our life.
